HS2 Ltd seized possession of the eastern side of the nature reserve, which is maintained by the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) and is home to bittern, breeding tern and some of the UK’s rarest butterflies, on 22nd September in order to carry out clearance works in connection with the HS2 high-speed rail link.
